Joy of Giving week is celebrated in India between the 2nd and 8th of October every year. This event, which is India's largest philanthropic event, is a time when people from all over the country come together to help the less privileged and donate on joy of giving. NGOs especially play an important role during this time as it provides a platform for people to contribute to the causes they feel passionate about. Akshaya Patra is an NGO that feeds the mid-day meal to over 1.4 million children in Government and Government-aided schools across the country on every working day. Making a donation to support children on joy of giving week could help the Foundation come closer to fulfilling its mission of feeding 5 million children by 2020.
Joy of Giving week which is currently called Daan Utsav aims to 'promote giving as a culture.' By asking people to donate on joy of giving week last year, the festival raised tens of crores of rupees, and saw the involvement of over two million people. However with so many options available it is hard to choose which worthy cause to make a contribution to.Joy of Giving weekdonate on joy of giving
